Mummy's sad kitty...

This is Spunky Boomerang. He often looks reproachful, especially when he wants attention from me. His favourite trick is to get up on the computer desk and stand in front of the monitor, but sitting on the steps wishing I'd come for a nap works too.

This is part of the very tidy garden. You (and I) can thank Long Suffering Spouse for this. He knows I'm beyond overworked right now, and he took it upon himself (with a little direction) to clean up the gardens really well (where he could get at them. There's still a lot of wet, but things are coming nicely.

We have even more snowdrops happening now. I believe LSS said somewhere around 150 and still counting.

Not that I've had much time to enjoy them. This weekend, I'll be in Halifax, at the fifth annual Saltscapes Expo. Is that POSSIBLE, that we've been doing these for five years? Guess it must be! Anyway, if you're in the area, drop in; I'll be holding court, so to speak, at the Home and Garden stage most of all three days, talking about Herb gardening, gardening without breaking the budget, and doing some Question and Answer sessions. Hopefully lots of eople with lots of answers will come along...I always have questions.

What? You say I'm the one who is supposed to have the answers?
Move over, Spunky. I'll sit here looking tragic too.

  1. Jodi, your life is incredibly hectic - will it calm down soon? I do hope you get to enjoy your garden, though your husband has done a great job. I do like the snowdrops, they are so pretty, I wish mine would flower again!

Good luck with the show, best wishes Sylvia (England)

  2. The idea of a cat called Spunky Boomerang is quite ridiculous: and I suspect that the feline concerned is fully aware of that fact. He has my sympathy, if I had been lumbered with such a name I would look reproachful as well !
Enjoy the show: I know how you feel as I have three coming up and am feeling a little wan at the prospect.

  8. Dear Spunky, what a beautiful face! None of ours look woeful, just determined (Athena, Layla) or happy but clueless (Linus). Have fun at the show!

  10. Have a Halifax time. Too bad it's so far, I wouldn't mind being your Court Jester. I've got all the answers no one wants.

  11. Good Evening Jodi....no doubt you will be reading all your post when you return from the city. The SaltScapes thing I have been yearning to go for the past 4 years..never seen to make it. This weekend I may, though tomorrow is the NSAGC district meeting tomorrow and our club is hosting it, so that's were my bod will be. What a great hubby you have...you will see things growning in the speed of light after the next beautiful extra warms days we are going to have! Enjoy!
My eyes are finally drying up after reading about the new barncoon cat. He is adorable...what a smucker face! Maybe if you were not feeding the birds, he would have died! There are too many "ungodly" people out there! Thankfully you two are the "good-god-almighty-honey" ones!

  12. Poor sad kitteh! Perhaps Mummy will come for a nap, sometime in mid-May.

I hope Saltscapes proves unexpectedly fun. I wish I could be there, to sit at your feet and soak up the gardening wisdom.

Good on LSS for all that work! And this year I must plant snowdrops...

  13. Yes, your LSS (Lowell, isn't it?) has done a bang up job in the beds. :) Here's hoping the weather stays as nice as predicted, jodi -- though every time I check with Environment Canada, the temps for the weekend get lower and lower... Even 20C sounds pretty darned nice to me!

  15. I hope you have lots of answers for all the questions you get. And your sweet Spunky Boomerang will probably be sitting there on the steps waiting for you to come take a nap when you get home (our Lydia does the same thing to me).

  19. Seeing the snowdrops must bring you spring joy! I loved my trip to Halifax last week. The weather was nice and the crocuses were blooming. I was sad to see I was too early for the Saltscapes Expo. Oh well, I'll have to time a trip to see more green sometime later on in life...enjoy your nice coastal weather out there in that beautiful land.
