This is Spunky Boomerang. He often looks reproachful, especially when he wants attention from me. His favourite trick is to get up on the computer desk and stand in front of the monitor, but sitting on the steps wishing I'd come for a nap works too.
This is part of the very tidy garden. You (and I) can thank Long Suffering Spouse for this. He knows I'm beyond overworked right now, and he took it upon himself (with a little direction) to clean up the gardens really well (where he could get at them. There's still a lot of wet, but things are coming nicely.
We have even more snowdrops happening now. I believe LSS said somewhere around 150 and still counting.
Not that I've had much time to enjoy them. This weekend, I'll be in Halifax, at the fifth annual Saltscapes Expo. Is that POSSIBLE, that we've been doing these for five years? Guess it must be! Anyway, if you're in the area, drop in; I'll be holding court, so to speak, at the Home and Garden stage most of all three days, talking about Herb gardening, gardening without breaking the budget, and doing some Question and Answer sessions. Hopefully lots of eople with lots of answers will come along...I always have questions.
What? You say I'm the one who is supposed to have the answers?
Move over, Spunky. I'll sit here looking tragic too.
Jodi, your life is incredibly hectic - will it calm down soon? I do hope you get to enjoy your garden, though your husband has done a great job. I do like the snowdrops, they are so pretty, I wish mine would flower again!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the show, best wishes Sylvia (England)
The idea of a cat called Spunky Boomerang is quite ridiculous: and I suspect that the feline concerned is fully aware of that fact. He has my sympathy, if I had been lumbered with such a name I would look reproachful as well !
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the show: I know how you feel as I have three coming up and am feeling a little wan at the prospect.
So many snowdrops and with that many the fragrance must waft wildly everywhere! Enjoy your Expo and the enthusiasm of gardeners.
ReplyDeleteYour husband did a great job in cleaning up the yard, lovely snowdrops. Good luck with the show, and hopefully you'll get to enjoy your garden.
ReplyDeleteYaaaaaaaaaaay! It's spring time at Jodi's house! Don't work too hard now!
ReplyDeleteJodi .. you will be great with the open house .. after all you are a Blue Nose gal right ? LOL
ReplyDeleteI love that forlorn look from baby through the stair spindles .. mine are racing around here like crazy kitties .. we have stuff in the family room that would be in the shed if we had that by now ? but they love playing hid'nseek through it all .
Love all the snow drops .. why don't I have more myself ?? darn !
Dear Jodi, Lucky gardener to have the support of LSS to get your garden tidy and ready for you and spring! 155 snowdrops! Wow! I have to say...that is love to take the time to count them all for you! They are lovely~~Love your house color, it must be a beacon during the gray and white days of winter. Have a good weekend~~gail
ReplyDeleteDear Spunky, what a beautiful face! None of ours look woeful, just determined (Athena, Layla) or happy but clueless (Linus). Have fun at the show!
ReplyDeleteVery cute kitty! Have fun at the show!
ReplyDeleteHave a Halifax time. Too bad it's so far, I wouldn't mind being your Court Jester. I've got all the answers no one wants.
ReplyDeleteGood Evening Jodi....no doubt you will be reading all your post when you return from the city. The SaltScapes thing I have been yearning to go for the past 4 years..never seen to make it. This weekend I may, though tomorrow is the NSAGC district meeting tomorrow and our club is hosting it, so that's were my bod will be. What a great hubby you have...you will see things growning in the speed of light after the next beautiful extra warms days we are going to have! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteMy eyes are finally drying up after reading about the new barncoon cat. He is adorable...what a smucker face! Maybe if you were not feeding the birds, he would have died! There are too many "ungodly" people out there! Thankfully you two are the "good-god-almighty-honey" ones!
Poor sad kitteh! Perhaps Mummy will come for a nap, sometime in mid-May.
ReplyDeleteI hope Saltscapes proves unexpectedly fun. I wish I could be there, to sit at your feet and soak up the gardening wisdom.
Good on LSS for all that work! And this year I must plant snowdrops...
Yes, your LSS (Lowell, isn't it?) has done a bang up job in the beds. :) Here's hoping the weather stays as nice as predicted, jodi -- though every time I check with Environment Canada, the temps for the weekend get lower and lower... Even 20C sounds pretty darned nice to me!
ReplyDeleteGood luck at the expo. I hope you have lots of interested gardeners making your stay there go quickly.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have lots of answers for all the questions you get. And your sweet Spunky Boomerang will probably be sitting there on the steps waiting for you to come take a nap when you get home (our Lydia does the same thing to me).
ReplyDeleteCindy
Hurrah - someone else counts their snowdrops :)
ReplyDeleteHave fun at the show - I must think of a really fiendish question to ask you ;)
What a photgentic kitty cat Spunky is, great pic! The snowdrops are beautiful.
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely kitty. She has such a pretty, delicate face.
ReplyDeleteSeeing the snowdrops must bring you spring joy! I loved my trip to Halifax last week. The weather was nice and the crocuses were blooming. I was sad to see I was too early for the Saltscapes Expo. Oh well, I'll have to time a trip to see more green sometime later on in life...enjoy your nice coastal weather out there in that beautiful land.
