The Blogging World gets Ahead of Me....
In recent months while I was wallowing in my own stuff, the Blogging world has added some handy new tools and options, especially here in Blogger (which I still see no reason to leave for other blogging sites). A while back I replaced the long and ungainly row of blogs I read with the tool from Blotanical, and while that's useful it doesn't let me know when a blog has been updated. I'm just now engaging in the 'blogs I follow' option, and filling those in.
It takes time to do them, however, so if you don't see your blog in the list of those I'm following, have patience...I'll get my favourites all added eventually. Since there are over 100 that I'm very fond of, it's going to take some time, obviously. I've really been having fun the past couple of days getting a bit caught up on what my bloggin' buddies are up to this New Year, and I swear you're responsible for things healing better! So group hugs to all of you. (And big purrs from Spunky Boomerang, my always-helpful assistant in computer work.)

Jodi, You are so right. so many new tools appeared.
ReplyDeletemy latest favourite tool is twitter.com.
See you around :)
Any distraction from our aches, pains, and incisions is a good thing. :-) And as you pointed out in a previous post, what else is there to do this time of year?
ReplyDeleteI so enjoy seeing your cat children Jodi. They are such handsome creatures. Spunky looks so elegant draped over your workspace. I can just imagine how some of those papers look after being ironed by the cat. tee hee. So glad you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see that you're feeling better, Jodi!
ReplyDeleteEven with its imperfections, I'm a Blogger fan and have no plans of leaving. I've really enjoyed the new following tool too.
Hi again Jodi :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, blogger has moved on in tools terms. Although I have been blogging I haven’t experimented with them all myself. Being followed is nice – lovely to see you in my list :-D
Wishing your recovery to be swift! Enjoy the rest of your weekend :-D
I've been too lazy to set up the following option.....Instead I use a bookmark program that is compatible with Firefox. Firefox is the browser of choice to edit posts in blogger....blogger doesn't like mac too well. I have my 100 plus blogs and their last ten posts on my browser page. Quite handy.
ReplyDeleteI am very glad you are mending.
Gail
Now that is one contented cat : )
ReplyDeleteI still haven't tweaked ? a lot of options yet .. I still haven't read my camera manual YET (red faced as I say that .. it will probably be the last thing I say on earth too, jeez !).. so many things to try and so few hours I can do that with ; )
Hi Jodi - glad you are feeling better. I'm on wordpress and was wondering about blogger as wordpress can be limiting in adding things to the sidebar but it sounds like blogger has its own problems.
ReplyDelete((((jodi))))
ReplyDeleteJodi, I'm glad you did this post. I haven't been blogging this past year so I didn't know about Blotanicals. I may give that a try and also attempt to figure out what else is new. I'm glad you're feeling better also.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're healing well, Jodi - Spunky looks like he does the same thing that my Velcro does: "Pay attention to me, Mom! Pay attention to me!" I was reading about how hard it is to travel with all this bad weather, and I realized that I travel all the time all over the world in the blogosphere so it keeps me from having cabin fever. Glad to see that you're out visiting again!
ReplyDeleteLooks like Spunky Boomerang can teach me how to deal with winter. I'm starting to bounce off the walls.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear you are convalescing! I'm sure the cat children are keeping you warm. Your Nibbs looks much like our Sluggo.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried an RSS reader like Bloglines or Google Reader? They make it easy to tell if a blog has a new post which in turn makes it easy to keep track of people who post sporadically without feeling frustrated checking each day.
