Garden Blogger's Muse Day: January 1

"Bare branches of each tree
on this chilly January morn
look so cold so forlorn.
Gray skies dip ever so low
left from yesterday's dusting of snow.

Yet in the heart of each tree
waiting for each who wait to see
new life as warm sun and breeze will blow,
like magic, unlock springs sap to flow,
buds, new leaves, then blooms will grow."

- Nelda Hartmann, January Morn

A couple of days late with this Garden Blogger's Muse Day posting, but no less heartfelt. Thanks to Carolyn Gail for having thought up this fun way to go through the gardening year!

  2. I love the pictures and the poem you put with them. I forgot all about this muse day. I will have to get into the habit of posting a poem. I love poetry.

The snow looks lovely. We have a dusting on the ground. It will be gone by this weekend. It is supposed to get up into the 50's. This seems impossible when it is in the teens or less at the present moment. This is how our crazy weather goes during winter. The mercury goes up and down

I hope you are feeling well by now Jodi.

  3. I wish we had that much snow! We've got maybe an inch at present, with some drifts due to strong winds.

I love seeing your gardens throughout the various seasons.

  5. You have had a lot of snow this winter - far more than we have had here. Your photographs, as always, are beautiful.

I hope this year brings better health to you!

  6. What a wonderful poem and the photos that you've chosen to accompany it are perfect, Jodi. Hope you are able to dig out of the snow soon... if not for anything else than to get your Christmas tree out of the house. ;)
